Job summary

Table & Banter Hospitality is seeking a dedicated kitchen/dishwashing teammate to maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen supporting daily cafe operations. You will wash, sanitize, and store dishes, operate dishwashing equipment, and help keep work areas clean and compliant with food safety standards.

We value reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dishwashing, kitchen operations, restaurants, cafés, or food service is preferred, but we welcome individuals with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• A strong commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and maintaining a safe kitchen environment.
• Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment, handle cleaning products safely, and maintain clean, sanitized dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing varying dishwashing volumes while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• A dependable, responsible, and team-oriented attitude, with a willingness to assist with kitchen cleaning, organization, and general support duties as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures for proper cleaning, sanitizing, storage, and waste disposal.
• Ability to safely perform light to heavy-duty dishwashing responsibilities, including handling large cookware, kitchen equipment, and high-volume dish loads.
• Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods and perform frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and work collaboratively with culinary and hospitality teams.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment that supports efficient daily café operations.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment according to established food safety standards.
• Safely operate commercial dishwashing equipment, following proper procedures for water temperatures, sanitation, and equipment handling.
• Prevent workplace injuries by identifying and addressing slip, trip, burn, and other potential hazards while maintaining clean and dry work areas.
• Follow established procedures for safely handling, storing, and using cleaning chemicals, including proper labeling and required protective equipment.
• Practice safe lifting, carrying, and handling techniques when moving heavy cookware, equipment, and supplies.
• Support the culinary and café teams by maintaining a steady supply of clean dishes, utensils, and equipment throughout service.
• Maintain clean and organized dishwashing stations, kitchen floors, work surfaces, and storage areas, including proper waste disposal and recycling.
• Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, injuries, and safety concerns to management.
• Assist with opening, closing, general kitchen cleaning, and other operational responsibilities as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a safe, efficient, and positive work environment.
