Indiana University Bloomington is seeking a Kitchen Utility Attendant to perform a mix of custodial tasks and ware-washing in our residential dining facilities. You will clean equipment, sanitize pots and trays, and support dishwashing operations in a fast-paced dining environment.

The role requires steady attention to safety, reliability, and teamwork, with work hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• General knowledge at the high school level is required.
• Food safety and sanitation awareness are essential as part of daily duties.
• Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment and maintain cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs general kitchen sanitation duties and directs assigned staff in proper custodial tasks.
• Washes pots, pans, and food preparation equipment; maintains dishwasher area.
• Transfers supplies between storage and work areas; assists with ware-washing duties.
• Maintains cleanliness of dining facility surfaces and related areas.
• Supports waste disposal and recycling according to departmental standards.
• Directs, teaches, and monitors student workers in basic ware-washing tasks.
