Job summary

Hook It Up Fish & Chips in Santa Fe is seeking a dependable steward to join our fast-paced kitchen. You will wash and sanitize dishes, keep areas clean, and support cooks and service teams with stocked supplies. The role requires standing for long periods and adherence to safety and sanitation procedures.

Experience in a restaurant or stewarding is helpful, but not required. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are optional shifts, with opportunities to grow in a lively hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically active work.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Previous restaurant or stewarding experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Wash and properly sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout dishwashing and kitchen areas
• Keep cooks and service teams stocked with clean dishes and equipment
• Remove trash and maintain designated waste and recycling areas
• Clean floors, work surfaces and kitchen equipment as assigned
• Properly use and store cleaning chemicals according to safety standards
• Assist with basic kitchen cleaning and closing duties
• Follow all sanitation, food safety and workplace safety procedures
• Support the kitchen team wherever needed during busy service periods
• Help maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by your direct supervisor, Executive Chef/Owner
