Channahon Park District is seeking a Dishwasher / Food Runner to support both back-of-house and front-of-house operations at Heritage Bluffs Golf Club. The role emphasizes maintaining a clean kitchen, timely food delivery, and dependable teamwork in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

The position involves washing and sanitizing dishes, keeping service areas organized, assisting with opening/closing duties, and supporting member events and banquets for guests.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant, banquet, golf club, or hospitality is helpful but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Willingness to support both kitchen and service teams.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, sort, and store dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Keep dish area and kitchen clean, organized, and free of clutter.
• Remove trash and recycling; maintain clean waste areas.
• Assist with stocking clean service ware and supplies to kitchen, bar, dining room, and banquets.
• Run food from kitchen to the correct table or event location promptly and accurately.
• Verify plates match tickets and special requests before delivery.
• Communicate clearly with servers, cooks, and managers to support service.
• Clear tables, return dirty dishes, and reset service areas as needed.
• Follow food safety and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and side duties, including light prep or deep cleaning.
• Support member events and functions with timely service and teamwork.

Position Summary

The Dishwasher / Food Runner supports both back-of-house and front-of-house operations to help deliver a clean, organized, and efficient dining experience for members and guests. This role is responsible for washing and sanitizing dishes, cookware, and service items, maintaining a clean kitchen and dish area, and delivering food promptly and accurately from the kitchen to dining and event spaces. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, sort, and properly store dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Keep dish area, kitchen floors, storage areas, and service stations clean, organized, and free of clutter.
• Remove trash, recycling, and cardboard; keep waste areas clean and orderly.
• Assist with stocking clean service ware and supplies to kitchen, bar, dining room, and banquet areas.
• Run food from the kitchen or expo line to the correct table, dining area, or event location promptly and accurately.
• Verify plates match tickets, including special requests, before delivery.
• Communicate clearly with servers, cooks, and managers to support smooth service.
• Help clear tables, return dirty dishes to the kitchen, and reset service areas as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties, including light prep or deep cleaning as assigned.
• Support member events, golf outings, and special functions with timely service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, banquet, golf club, or hospitality experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to support both kitchen and service teams.
• Basic understanding of sanitation and food safety practices.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain professional standards of appearance and conduct.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 40-50 pounds.
• Ability to safely carry trays, racks, dish bins, and supplies.
• Comfort working in a hot, wet, fast-paced kitchen and dining environment.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during golf season peak periods.

Work Schedule

This position may include daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs, member dining, banquets, tournaments, and special events.
