Job description

The Dishwasher & Catering Steward is responsible for the sanitation of all kitchen equipment, cooking utensils, dishware, glassware, and silverware, as well as maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. They are also responsible for ensuring all back of house areas are set and ready prior to events. The employee will assist in pulling and staging all equipment before setup, during the event, and during clean-up. All catering equipment will be maintained, stored, and inventoried. The role may include assisting in other areas of Catering as required. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled based on business needs. As a perk, free meals are offered on most event days when available.

This role offers an hourly wage of $19.00.

Responsibilities

1. Operate dish machine equipment and wash items not dishwasher safe by hand.
2. Place clean dishes, utensils, or equipment in proper storage areas.
3. Assist with plate-up and food production line as needed.
4. Sort and remove trash or compost, clean after usage, and sweep and scrub all floors in the kitchen and back of house areas.
5. Assist in keeping dock areas clean and organized.
6. Sort and remove trash or compost and clean during events.
7. Clean up spills and breakages on the event floor.
8. Maintain a positive attitude and foster a compliant employee relations climate.
9. Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, safety, and employment regulations in accordance with company standards. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen for food and beverage operations.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a food production kitchen or similar industry is preferred.
• Ability to positively interact with diverse personalities, including co-workers and managers, in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic English listening and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a changing environment.
• Self-directed while working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and long hours.
