Job summary

The Kitchen At The Mission in California is seeking a part-time dishwasher to join our kitchen team. You will be responsible for washing dishes, operating the dishwasher, unloading deliveries, and keeping the area clean and organized.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred), on-the-job training, physical stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A California food handler’s certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, pans and flatware to ensure availability of clean dishware.

• Unloading and storing deliveries; receiving supplies.
• Clean and sanitize dishes and food prep items as per guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report equipment issues.

The Kitchen At The Mission

Part Time

Dishwasher $17.00 hr.

• Ensuring the availability of clean dishes
• Washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware
• Cleaning Machines and appliances used in the kitchen
• Unloading and storing deliveries
• Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans
• Operate the dishwasher
• Safely use the chemicals used to wash and sanitize the dishes and your area
• Receive and store food supplies
• Clean, per approved sanitation and safety guidelines, all dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, and pans, related food preparation/serving items and equipment
• Operate dish washer per approved guidelines
• Clean items my hand for example pots, pans, counters, walls in the prep area, and appliances
• Monitor equipment (report to maintenance)
• Inventory of cleaning supplies
• Wash empty trash cans, buss tubs, sweep the kitchen, and perform other tasks related to cleanliness
• May work directly with food, such as unloading and stocking deliveries. Chopping and peeling vegetables or assembling orders
• Clean restroom if needed
• Assist other colleagues when needed, prep cooks
• Keep the dish washing area clean and safe

Knowledge and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prepared to receive on-the-job training
• Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
• Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 50lbs.)
• California food handler’s certificate
