Job summary

Dial Senior Living in Omaha is seeking a part-time Kitchen/Dishwasher Assistant to support daily meal service for residents. Shift is Monday through Friday, 4pm to 8pm, with opportunity to contribute to a clean, safe kitchen and friendly resident interactions.

Responsibilities include operating the dishwasher, hand washing, and assisting kitchen staff with prep and restocks. Ideal candidates are 16+ and proficient in English, with a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be age 16 or older and able to read, write and comprehend English.
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Experience in a kitchen or food service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwasher and sanitize kitchenware.
• Hand wash items not suitable for dishwasher.
• Keep kitchen tidy and organized.
• Notify manager of equipment issues.
• Clean equipment and sinks per schedule.
• Assist kitchen staff with prep and restock.
• Provide resident-facing customer service.
• Clear tables and bus during/after meals.
• Maintain a safe kitchen environment per health regulations.
• Perform routine cleaning on dish machine.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Operate dishwasher and ensure proper sanitation of kitchenware including dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and trays.
• Hand wash kitchen items not suitable for the dishwasher.
• Store items in their proper spot and maintain a tidy and organized kitchen.
• Notify manager if dish machine malfunctions or requires maintenance.
• Clean equipment, appliances, storage area, and sinks according to schedule.
• Support kitchen staff with basic prep, item restock, or delivery of clean items when needed.
• Provide customer service to residents to allow a high level of resident satisfaction.
• Bus tables during and after meals and clear tables when residents are finished eating, as requested.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment as required by local and state health departments.
• Perform routine preventative cleaning on dish machine according to schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience And Other Requirements

• Must be age 16 or older
• Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

• Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
• Follow state food-handling and kitchen regulations
• Operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn.
• Working 3-3.75 hours per shift standing, walking, and moving about without the need to sit down

• Some experience in food cleanup or preparation is preferred
