Job summary

Nisqually Red Wind Casino is seeking a dedicated dishwasher to properly wash and store dishes, maintain the dish room, and support both Back of House and Front of House teams. This role emphasizes cleanliness, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include operating the dish machine, stocking supplies, and assisting with other kitchen tasks as needed. A Food Handler’s permit is preferred; willingness to obtain one is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down dish machine, including arms, screens, and baskets.
• Clean and polish the machine and interior; ensure proper operation.
• Wash and store all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils in proper places.
• Monitor water temperature during dishwashing for proper hygiene.
• Remove trash and maintain cleanliness of the dish room and cans.
• Keep lowerators clean, stocked, and organized; perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY: Properly wash and store all dishes, pots and pans trays, eating utensils, cups, and small equipment for the department. Maintain the dish room and dish machine in a sanitary and efficient manner.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Food Handlers permit.
• Ability to take initiative.
• Current knowledge of occupational safety issues.

• Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
• Ability to work peak business hours.
• Ability to obtain a Class II gaming license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen.
• Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
• Required to be able to reach with hands and arms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

• Set up and break down dish machine, including arms, screens, and baskets.
• Clean and polish machine thoroughly, removing any paper and hosing down interior.
• Check machine to be sure it is operating correctly and report any defects immediately.? Wash and store in proper places all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Check water temperature during dishwashing operation to ensure proper temperature.
• Remove trash from dish room and place in dumpster.
• Clean and sanitize garbage cans and keep clean liners in cans at all times.
• Clean and keep neat dish room area including detergent storage area and belt line.
• Keep all lowerators clean, polished, and neatly stored.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
