Job summary

City of Lincoln is seeking a part-time dishwasher to maintain a clean, organized kitchen and support staff throughout shifts. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to hygiene standards, and assisting with cleaning and stock duties as needed.

Responsibilities include washing, sorting, and stocking dishware, aiding in buffet setup, and ensuring the kitchen remains sanitized during and after each shift. A positive attitude and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Current food handler’s permit or ability to obtain one prior to hire.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
• Attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, flatware, and other cooking utensils, place them in racks and send through the dish machine.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.
• Sort and stack clean dishes.
• Transport and stock dishware, flatware and glasses to all necessary areas and ensure areas remain fully stocked.
• Monitor the dish machine.
• Sweep and mop floors, and clean mats and drains.
• Empty and wash garbage cans.
• Assist in buffet set up, replenish condiments and dishware.
• Clean and sanitize the kitchen throughout the shift and at the end of shift.
• Provide support to the kitchen team and change tasks as needed.
• Other duties as requested and assigned by your manager.

Description

As the dishwasher, you are responsible for ensuring the dishes and kitchen area are clean and organized. You take responsibility for the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and complete deep cleaning on a regular basis. You are a team player and provide assistance in the kitchen where needed. All tasks and interactions are done in a way that upholds the company’s mission, vision, and values.
