Job summary

Gould Farm's Roadside Store & Cafe is seeking a part-time Dishwasher to support daily store and cafe operations, maintain a clean, safe environment, and help prepare food as needed. Reporting to the Roadside Manager, you will help set up dish stations, wash dishware, and ensure supplies are stocked.

This role emphasizes teamwork, reliable communication, and a positive customer-facing presence. Saturday shifts (approx 7:30 am to 3:15 pm) with hourly pay starting at 18–20 USD.

Responsibilities

• Set up dish stations, including dishwashing machines and sinks.
• Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware by hand or in dishwashers.
• Operate dishwashing machines and maintain correct water temperatures and cleaning agents.
• Store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in assigned areas.
• Stock serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other areas with dishes and utensils.
• Clean trash receptacles, floors, and other areas; empty trash containers; bus tables.
• Assist with basic food prep tasks when needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION Gould Farm Roadside Store & Cafe - Dishwasher (Part-Time)

Join a dynamic team dedicated to healing, recovery, and reimagining mental health treatment. Reporting to the Roadside Manager (and Assistant Manager in their absence), the Dishwasher is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the store and cafe. This includes fostering a welcoming environment where the general public can connect with the people and mission of Gould Farm through great prepared food, quality service, and a market featuring Gould Farm products. The Dishwasher assists with maintaining a clean, safe and well organized venue. This position is responsible for the promotion of the values of Gould Farm, reflected in the Mission Statement and participation as a contributing member of the community.

Specific Responsibilities

include but are not limited to:

Restaurant Operations

• Setting up dish stations, including dishwashing machines and sinks
• Washing dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware by hand or in dishwashers
• Operating equipment: Operating and maintaining dishwashing machines, including knowing how to use cleaning agents properly and maintain the correct water temperatures
• Correctly placing and storing clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in assigned areas
• Stocking serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other areas with necessary dishes and utensils
• Cleaning trash receptacles, floors, and other areas
• Emptying trash containers, busing tables, and assisting with basic food prep tasks when needed

Other

• Create and support a work environment that is empowering for guests, volunteers and colleagues.
• Collaborate with staff and guests to ensure an environment where all participant's strengths, talents and voices are recognized.
• Meet regularly with Manager or Assistant Manager for ongoing supervision to support professional growth and competency.

Qualifications:

food service/restaurant experience in a fast paced establishment preferred; ability to work collaboratively as a team member; good communication and organization skills and the ability to assist with the integration of community feedback into continuous improvement essential.
