Responsibilities

• Return clean cookware and service items to correct areas promptly.
• Sweep, mop, and clean BOH areas per schedule.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables properly throughout the shift.
• Follow proper handling of cleaning chemicals and sanitation products.
• Adhere to NYC health department rules and restaurant sanitation standards.

The ideal candidate works with urgency, maintains exceptional cleanliness and sanitation standards, and takes pride in keeping the kitchen organized and operating efficiently.

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain adequate supplies of clean plates, cookware, utensils, and equipment during high-volume service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing station throughout the shift.
• Ensure clean cookware, equipment, and service items are returned promptly to the appropriate areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and clean BOH areas according to established cleaning schedules.
• Remove garbage, recycling, cardboard, and food waste throughout the shift and dispose of materials properly.
• Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and sanitation products.
• Follow NYC Department of Health requirements and restaurant sanitation and food-safety procedures.
• Assist with maintaining organization and cleanliness of walk-ins, dry storage, and other BOH areas.
• Follow direction and contribute to a professional, respectful kitchen culture
