Job summary

Levy at UW Madison is hiring a Dishwasher to help keep a clean, organized kitchen in a high-traffic stadium environment. You’ll wash dishes and cookware, maintain sanitary surfaces, and support a safe, efficient kitchen team. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to sanitation standards in a fast-paced setting.

Anticipated start date in July. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, with an additional $5 per hour on football game days.

Responsibilities

• Dish cleaning, scraping, rinsing, and washing by hand or machine.
• Maintain cleanliness of work tables, surfaces, and prep areas.
• Remove trash and maintain hygienic kitchen space.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors to keep them clean and safe.
• Maintain the dishwashing area and report issues to supervisor.
• Assist with stocking, transport, and loading of supplies.
• Collaborate with supervisors and teammates to ensure smooth operation.
• Assist with any other duties to support kitchen efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Dish Cleaning:Scrape, rinse, and wash dishes, pots, pans, and trays by hand or using the dishwashing machine, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Kitchen Cleanliness:Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces tomaintaina sanitary environment.
• Trash Removal:Remove trash and waste, placing it in designated containers. Clean and steam garbage cans tomaintaina hygienic kitchen space.
• Safety & Sanitation:Follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times, ensuring that kitchen areas and equipmentcomply withcleanliness standards.
• Floor Maintenance:Sweep and mop kitchen floors, ensuring that they are kept clean and safe for all kitchen staff.
• Equipment Care:Maintainthe dishwashing area, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Stocking & Transporting: Assist with the transfer of supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, helping with the unloading and loading of supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, always adhering to company sanitation and safety standards.
• Additional Duties:Assistwith any other tasks as assigned to ensure the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience:Restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
• Physical Stamina:Ability to be on your feet for long hours and move 20-40 lbs of kitchen supplies.
