Job summary

Oaks Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to assist in maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and dining area. You will wash and inspect dishes, store utensils properly, and help with delivering meals to residents as needed.

Role requires 18+ years of age, ability to pass a background check and health screen. You will support the Food Service Director and Lead Cook while upholding safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Desire to work with older adults and provide friendly, caring service.
• Must be 18 years of age, have a satisfactory criminal history check, and pass a physical exam and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Washes and inspects all dishware and glassware.
• Stores clean utensils, dishes and glassware properly.
• Keeps dishwashing equipment and dish room clean and in good operating condition.
• Reports malfunctions to the Food Service Director.
• Delivers ice to dining room and assists waitstaff when needed.
• Maintains cleaning chemicals and promotes a clean kitchen area.
• Keeps dishes ready and properly stored for the next meal.

Position SummaryThe Dishwasher will assist with the overall cleanliness of the kitchen including cleaning of dishes, kitchen equipment, and other items in the kitchen in accordance to federal and state regulations and the dietary program implemented by Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures. The Dishwasher will maintain clean and sanitized dining service areas and assist in the receiving, rotation, and storage of products.Responsibilities• Washes and inspects all dishware and glassware.• Stores clean utensils, dishes and glassware in proper places.• Keeps dish washing machine and dish room in clean operating condition.• Promptly reports any malfunctions or breakdowns of equipment to Food Service Director.• Sweeps and mops kitchen area and waitstaff station and cleans filter over stove area.• Delivers ice to dining room. May assist waitstaff with serving and bringing in dishes to kitchen, when necessary. May deliver meals to residents in their apartments, when necessary.• Performs assigned cleaning assignments according to established policies and utilizes the proper cleaning chemicals.• Keeps work areas clean and uncluttered.• Ensures that dishes are readily available for the next meal.• Stores dishes in the proper location in a way to prevent contaminationRegulatory Compliance and Sanitation• Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and the Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures.• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.• Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standards.• Maintain CPR & First Aid certification.Knowledge Requirements• State food handling and kitchen regulations• OSHA Standards• Fire and Safety Procedures• Operation of Kitchen AppliancesReports to: Food Service Director and Lead CookQualifications• Ability to read, write, and speak English.• Desire to work with older adults.
