Job summary

Milestone is seeking a Dishwasher to ensure dishes and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored while supporting a smooth dining service in California. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and professional kitchen and dining environment under the Dining Room Manager or Director, Culinary Services.

Responsibilities include transporting dishes, assisting in serving residents, and maintaining a positive customer service culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in food service or customer service preferred.
• Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by state regulations
• Must be 18 years or older
• Health screening and TB clearance required
• Criminal background check (fingerprinting) required
• First Aid certification required
• Compassion for and desire to work with older adults
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with strong customer service work ethic
• Pleasant, professional demeanor

Responsibilities

• Support a positive dining room service culture.
• Transport dishes to the kitchen and maintain a clean dining area.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and tabletop items.
• Return dishes to appropriate storage areas.
• Follow safety practices and Safety Committee Standards.
• Complete sanitation and cleanup tasks for dish room, kitchen, dining areas, steam tables, sinks, and drains.
• Empty trash and follow daily cleaning schedules.
• Assist with serving residents in the dining room as needed.
• Maintain flexibility with daily schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed.
• Display friendliness and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and visitors.
• Provide support during community tours and events.
• Follow dress code and maintain a professional image.
• Report elder maltreatment or abuse to management and authorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Culinary Services

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance

• Occasional weekend, evening, or night work and on-call as needed
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, latex, and other hazards
• Ability to lift and assist as needed, up to 50 lbs occasionally
