Job summary

Vessel Kitchen is seeking a steward to maintain a clean, sanitary restaurant and support kitchen and service teams. You will wash dishes, care for equipment, and keep kitchen and dining areas ready for use.

Responsibilities include washing and sanitizing items, organizing spaces, and communicating needs to leadership. This role requires physical stamina and a willingness to learn proper cleaning procedures; restaurant experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and ability to stay organized during busy shifts.
• Ability to work well with others and follow instructions.
• Willingness to ask questions and learn proper cleaning procedures.
• Working knowledge of sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, climb, reach, stoop, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Restaurant experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils by hand or machine.
• Organize and store clean items in their designated areas.
• Keep the dishwasher, dishwashing area, and kitchen equipment clean.
• Replace soiled cleaning solution and follow equipment shutdown procedures.
• Maintain clean floors, work areas, and drains.
• Remove trash and recycling and keep containers clean.
• Communicate supply and cleaning chemical needs to leadership.
• Assist with clearing tables, replacing bus tubs, and delivering food.
• Complete additional cleaning tasks as directed.
