Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware and utensils; load them into the dish machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes; transport to proper storage areas and rewash soiled items.
• Wash pots, pans and trays by hand as needed.
• Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
• Set up or break down the dishwashing area.
• Clean and roll/unroll mats; maintain clean floor areas.
• Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning solutions and sanitizers.
• Sweep and mop floors; wipe spills to keep floors dry.
• Notify supervisor if dish machine temperatures fall below safety standards.
• Follow hygiene practices when handling clean vs dirty dishes; participate in additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The role of a dishwasher is integral to upholding the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and success of the restaurant. Specifically, the Dishwasher position entails maintaining impeccable cleanliness and sanitation standards for glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and related items through both machine and manual cleaning methods. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the dishwashing area functions as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility, contributing to the overall hygiene and smooth operation of the establishment.

Essential Functions

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
• W ash pots, pans and trays by hand.
• R emove trash and garbage to dumpster.
• Set up or break down dishwashing area.
• Clean and roll/unroll mats.
• Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
• Sweep/mop floors.
• Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
• Notify supervisor any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
• Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first.
• Participate in additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor, aligned with qualifications and can be reasonably expected to be completed with minimal orientation.

Work in building environment with cooling and heating. Exposure to warm or hot temperatures due to the machinery and equipment used. Exposure to steam. Exposure to chemical used in cleaning dishes, utensils and work area. Exposure to food which may include items that have been chewed and spit out. Exposure to utensils that may be temperature hot from the oven or stove.
