Job summary

Amante’s Italian Restaurant is seeking a diligent Dishwasher to keep the kitchen dishware and surfaces clean and ready for service. You will wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, assist with overall kitchen cleanliness, and support the culinary team to ensure smooth operations.

We value reliability, physical stamina, and adherence to safety standards. This role involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 30 lbs, and working evenings and weekends as needed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read labels on chemicals.
• Walks and stands during entire shift.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
• Lift and carry racks up to 30 lbs., up to 50 times per shift.
• Lift and empty trashcans weighing up to 150 lbs., with assistance, up to two times per shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering.
• Change dishwater in dish machine every hour.
• Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.
• Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
• Set up or break down dishwashing area.
• Clean and roll/unroll mats.
• Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
• Sweep/mop floors.
• Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
• Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster.
• General restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
• Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
• Must notify Manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
• Other duties as directed.

Job Summary

Dishwashers at Amante's Italian Restaurant play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen. They are responsible for washing and sanitizing dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment while ensuring all items are organized and ready for service. Dishwashers also assist with cleaning kitchen areas, taking out trash, and supporting the culinary team as needed. Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The work that dishwashers do is physically demanding. They are on their feet much of the time. Dishwashers must work well under pressure and exercise tact and patience when dealing with other employees and customers. Because the restaurant serves the public and are open on weekends and at night, Dishwashers may work longer, irregular hours.
