Job summary

Trapper's Sushi is hiring a Dishwasher in Federal Way to ensure the cleanliness of all kitchenware and work areas. You will operate dishwashing machines, hand-wash delicate items, and support kitchen staff during busy periods.

Eligible candidates must be 18+, able to lift 50 lbs, and maintain high cleanliness standards. A Food Handler's Card is required or obtainable within 14 days. Competitive pay and benefits are offered in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas promptly.
• Load, operate, and unload dishwashing machines safely and efficiently.
• Wash large or delicate items by hand as needed.
• Ensure clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools are sanitized, organized, and stocked.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when stock is low.
• Inspect and report issues with dishwashing equipment or kitchen sanitation concerns.
• Remove garbage, recyclables, and compost per procedures and OSHA standards.
• Clean and sanitize designated kitchen areas, storage spaces, and restrooms per guidelines.
• Follow all food safety, health, sanitation, and PPE procedures.
• Support kitchen staff during peak service times by anticipating needs.
• Uphold values of teamwork, integrity, and respect in a safe, inclusive workplace.

The Dishwasher plays a vital role in our kitchen by ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware, utensils, and work areas in accordance with food safety regulations and company standards. This position is essential to maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming dining environment for both our team and our guests.

What You'll Do

• Collect used kitchenware, utensils, and dishes from dining and kitchen areas in a timely manner
• Load, operate, and unload dishwashing machines safely and efficiently
• Wash large or delicate items by hand as needed (e.g., rice pots, oversized cookware, specialty glassware)
• Ensure clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools are properly sanitized, organized, and stocked to support smooth kitchen operations
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and promptly notify a supervisor when stock is low
• Inspect and report any issues with dishwashing equipment or kitchen sanitation concerns
• Remove garbage, recyclables, and compost in accordance with company procedures and OSHA standards
• Clean and sanitize designated kitchen areas, storage spaces, and restrooms as assigned, following OSHA, local health department, and company guidelines
• Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation procedures, including proper chemical handling, labeling, and PPE use
• Support kitchen staff during peak service times by anticipating needs and communicating proactively

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout an 8+ hour shift
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, steam, and wet conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Food Handler's Card required (or willing to obtain within first 14 days of employment)
• Prior dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required
