Job summary

Trapper's Sushi Co. is seeking a Dishwasher to maintain clean dishes and a sanitary kitchen. You will handle dishwashing machines, wash items by hand when needed, and keep supplies stocked to support smooth kitchen operations.

Ideal candidates are 18+, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced setting with heat and moisture. A Food Handler's Card is required or obtained within the first 14 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for 8+ hour shifts.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with heat, steam, and wet conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Food Handler's Card required (or willing to obtain within 14 days).
• Dishwashing/kitchen experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas promptly.
• Operate dishwashing machines safely; load/unload.
• Wash large or delicate items by hand as needed.
• Sanitize, organize and stock dishes, utensils and tools.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when low.
• Inspect and report issues with dishwashing equipment or sanitation.
• Remove garbage, recyclables, and compost per procedures and OSHA.
• Clean and sanitize designated areas, storage spaces and restrooms per guidelines.
• Follow all food safety, health and sanitation procedures including chemical handling and PPE.
• Support kitchen staff during peak times and communicate proactively.
• Uphold company values of teamwork, integrity and respect.

What You'll Do

• Collect used kitchenware, utensils, and dishes from dining and kitchen areas in a timely manner
• Load, operate, and unload dishwashing machines safely and efficiently
• Wash large or delicate items by hand as needed (e.g., rice pots, oversized cookware, specialty glassware)
• Ensure clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools are properly sanitized, organized, and stocked to support smooth kitchen operations
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and promptly notify a supervisor when stock is low
• Inspect and report any issues with dishwashing equipment or kitchen sanitation concerns
• Remove garbage, recyclables, and compost in accordance with company procedures and OSHA standards
• Clean and sanitize designated kitchen areas, storage spaces, and restrooms as assigned, following OSHA, local health department, and company guidelines
• Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation procedures, including proper chemical handling, labeling, and PPE use
• Support kitchen staff during peak service times by anticipating needs and communicating proactively

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, steam, and wet conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Food Handler's Card required (or willing to obtain within first 14 days of employment)
• Prior dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required
