Job summary

Flour Bakery+Cafe in Boston is hiring a full time and/or part time Dishwasher for our Brigham Circle location. You will support a busy kitchen by keeping equipment clean and organized, and by managing trash, recycling, and compost duties with attention to sanitation.

The role reports to the Kitchen Manager and FOH Manager, with responsibilities including equipment cleaning, sanitization, and adherence to grooming standards. A strong sense of urgency and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have scheduling availability to work at least 3 shifts/20 hours per week and at least one weekend shift
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, reach, and lift
• Ability to operate equipment such as a dishwasher, and cleaning tools
• Must be able to maintain grooming and uniform standards
• Excellent sense of urgency and hospitality
• Ability to recognize when and where further cleaning up to our standards
• Ability to take feedback and direction
• Willingness to work in a team and help all other departments, as needed

If so, we have the opportunity for you! Flour Bakery + Cafe is looking for a full time and/or part time Dishwasher for one of our busy locations!

The Dishwasher directly reports to the Kitchen Manager as well as the FOH Manager. The Dishwasher responsibility is to make sure our teams have clean and organized equipment and tools they need to process our recipes, as well as managing the clean up of trash, recycling, and compost by doing occasional rounds of the kitchen.

Day-to-Day Performance Expectations

• Cleaning of all equipment and facilities, including but not limited to floors, walls, wash closet, dish machine, three bay sinks, and break areas
• Proper sanitization of all kitchen equipment and utensils
• Removal of all trash, compost, and recycling, keeping these containers and the surrounding areas clean and tidy too.

Work Environment

• Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises and machinery.
• Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures
• We do our best not to cross-contaminate anything containing gluten. However, there may be gluten in the air at times. We do our best to accommodate any staff allergy requests.

We ask for a minimum commitment of one year. Unfortunately, we do not offer seasonal or temporary work.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $17 per hour, with a current pay range of $17 - $21.86.
