Job summary

Flour Bakery Brigham Circle is seeking a Dishwasher to support a busy kitchen. The role involves cleaning equipment and facilities, sanitizing utensils, and maintaining a clean work area.

This is a full-time and/or part-time hourly position with a starting wage of $17 per hour and a range of $17–$21.86 per hour, with gluten considerations in a bustling cafe environment. We offer health insurance, retirement benefits, paid time off, and a staff meal policy.

Qualifications

• Must have scheduling availability to work at least 3 shifts/20 hours per week and at least one weekend shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift <50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean all equipment and facilities: floors, walls, wash areas, dish machine, sinks, break areas.
• Sanitize kitchen equipment and utensils to ensure food safety.
• Remove trash, compost, and recycling and keep containers tidy.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed and support team.

Dishwasher - Flour Bakery Brigham Circle - 1618 Tremont Sreet, 1 Brigham Circle, Boston MA 02120

If so, we have the opportunity for you! Flour Bakery + Cafe is looking for a full time and/or part time Dishwasher for one of our busy locations!

The Dishwasher directly reports to the Kitchen Manager as well as the FOH Manager. The Dishwasher responsibility is to make sure our teams have clean and organized equipment and tools they need to process our recipes, as well as managing the clean up of trash, recycling, and compost by doing occasional rounds of the kitchen.

Day-to-Day Performance Expectations:

• Cleaning of all equipment and facilities, including but not limited to floors, walls, wash closet, dish machine, three bay sinks, and break areas
• Proper sanitization of all kitchen equipment and utensils
• Removal of all trash, compost, and recycling, keeping these containers and the surrounding areas clean and tidy too.

Skills for Qualifitcation:

• Must have scheduling availability to work at least 3 shifts/20 hours per week and at least one weekend shift
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate equipment such as a dishwasher, and cleaning tools
• Must be able to maintain grooming and uniform standards
• Excellent sense of urgency and hospitality
• Ability to recognize when and where further cleaning up to our standards
• Ability to take feedback and direction
• Willingness to work in a team and help all other departments, as needed

Work Environment:

• Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises and machinery.
• Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures
• We do our best not to cross-contaminate anything containing gluten. However, there may be gluten in the air at times. We do our best to accommodate any staff allergy requests.

We ask for a minimum commitment of one year. Unfortunately, we do not offer seasonal or temporary work.

Compensation:

The starting wage for this position is $17 per hour, with a current pay range of $17 - $21.86.
