Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a part-time Dishroom Clerk at the Des Moines location (4 Fleur Drive). You will help maintain a clean and safe kitchen by washing dishes, keeping equipment and work areas spotless, and supporting the Market Grille team to deliver great food and service.

Ideal candidates may have up to six months or less of related experience and must follow detailed instructions while working as part of a cooperative team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• No education requirement; six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred
• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables
• Count and record accurately, perform basic math operations

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every interaction a positive one
• Wash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans thoroughly and consistently
• Handle food safely and ensure the work area is always clean and neat
• Remove trash in a timely manner and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
• Report to work when scheduled and on time
