Job summary

Omaha Public Schools seeks a part-time Dishmachine Operator at North High. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 5.0 scheduled hours per day, August through May when students are in session. Reports to the Executive Director of Nutrition Services.

Primary duties include safe operation of the dishmachine, cleaning and sanitation, assisting with meal prep and service, and maintaining equipment. Benefits include uniform allowance and a complimentary shift meal. Non-exempt, paid bi-weekly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic arithmetic with money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Safe food handling expertise.
• Excellent attendance and work record.
• Douglas County Food Handler certification within 30 days of employment.
• Able to interact with diverse students and staff.
• Experience in food service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dish machine operation and cleanliness.
• Coordinate kitchen task schedules to meet service times.
• Assist with food preparation, service, and storage.
• Train across kitchen stations for cross-coverage.
• Follow approved cafeteria protocols and timelines.
