Job summary

Northwest High School, part of Omaha Public Schools, is seeking a Dishmachine Operator for a part-time position. Shifts run 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from August through May when students are in session, with a starting rate of $18 per hour.

Reports to the Executive Director of Nutrition Services. Includes uniform allowance and a complimentary shift meal. Requires safety, math, and customer service skills; applicants must obtain the Douglas County Food Handler’s Certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic with money, weight, volume and distance.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and HACCP procedures.
• Excellent attendance and reliable work record.
• Proficient in reading, writing and basic math.
• Must maintain Douglas County Food Handler’s Certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate dishroom operations in assigned area.
• Set work schedules to ensure timely task completion.
• Monitor cleaning and sanitation of dish machines and equipment.
• Assist with food preparation, serving and storage.
• Provide high quality customer service to students and staff.
