Job summary

CMC Hotels is seeking a Utility/Dish Steward at The Westin Raleigh-Durham Airport. The role involves operating the dishwasher to clean dishes, pots, and utensils, restocking supplies, and keeping the kitchen area clean to health department standards.

The position supports food prep and general kitchen operations while maintaining safe handling of chemicals and waste. The role requires stamina to stand for long periods and the ability to work in various temperatures, with opportunities for career

Qualifications

• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand on feet for extended periods.
• Ability to operate in extreme temperature ranges.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to handle kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes, pots, pans, and utensils using the dishwasher or by hand in a 3-compartment sink.
• Restocks all clean glasses, silverware and plates.
• Performs general cleaning to meet health department standards (sweeping, mopping, wiping equipment).
• Rotates and stores food stuffs and dry goods using FIFO.
• Stores supplies and chemicals properly and informs supervisor when items are low.
• Assists with food preparation, plating, and garnishing as needed.
• Empty trash and take to dumpster; manage recyclables per guidelines.
• Maintains cleanliness of trash/recycling containers to prevent odors and pests.
