Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong interest in technical areas and an aptitude for learning new creative technologies.
• 3D Modeling, 3D printing, or Animation.
• Crafting, Drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture, or other hands-on creative arts.
• Graphic design and image manipulation (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Sewing, Repair, or Fashion.
• Social Media content creation and marketing.
• Wordpress web publishing, ArcGIS Storymaps, or similar exhibition tools.
• Desire to educate, train or support others with varying technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Staffing the Makerspace and responding to patron requests.
• Keeping all areas clean and well-organized, including the front room and supply rooms.
• Maintaining a strong customer service focus and work-ethic.
• Embrace a mindset of creative, critical, and curious making to complete DiSCO training and project assignments.
• Create promotional materials for the DiSCO highlighting events and student work.
• Document technical workflows and processes for internal and external use.
• Maintain the technology and tools in the DiSCO under supervision.
• Create and maintain a personal online portfolio of DiSCO-related work.
• Attend all required meetings with Supervisor and Team.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication; assist others with technical tasks.
