Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Disaster Workforce Engagement Manager in the United States to guide and energize volunteers and staff across disaster cycles. You will build, sustain, and mobilize a robust volunteer workforce and engage community partners in readiness and response activities.

Responsibilities include leading volunteer-led programs, coordinating across regions, and ensuring readiness for deployments.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years leading and developing volunteer teams.
• Management Experience: 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Empower Volunteers: support diverse volunteer teams delivering disaster cycle services.
• Support the Program: help implement disaster cycle services activities within geographic areas.
• Mission Capacity Building: engage volunteers representative of communities.
• Engage Community: mobilize partners to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
• Manage in a Matrix: meet targets for volunteer engagement and Disaster Action Team response.
• Know Your Communities: be the local point of contact for partners and communities.
• Ready to Respond: participate in disaster response operations after training.
