Job summary

The Sheriff’s Office seeks an Emergency Management Coordinator to oversee administrative and emergency response activities, coordinate operations, and support readiness for natural disasters and critical incidents.

The role includes maintaining emergency management equipment, coordinating resources and volunteers, and staffing the SAR or EOC as needed; the candidate must apply discretion and understand laws, codes, and policies. EOE/ADA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Within one year obtain the listed certifications: IS-230 Fundamentals of Emergency Management; IS-120 An Introduction to Exercises; IS-235 Emergency Planning; IS-230 Foundations of Emergency Management; An Introduction to the National Incident Management System and National Response Framework; IS-235 Emergency Planning.
• Requires a Valid Florida Driver’s License at all times.
• Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate administrative and emergency response activities.
• Assist with Emergency Management functions and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate agency resources and community volunteers for resilience during emergencies.
• Staff the Situational Awareness Room (SAR) or County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as directed.
