Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs within our Disaster Recovery Cadre. You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration and emergency work.

Assignments may be remote, field-based, or hybrid, and will require collaboration with engineers, architects, and program staff. A minimum of two years in cost estimation and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related fields.
• Experience developing cost estimates for infrastructure or facility projects.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, materials, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices and project scopes.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster programs through scoping, estimates, and cost analysis.
• Review plans and cost documentation; ensure accuracy and defensibility.
• Develop conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and program staff to define eligible work.
• Prepare documentation suitable for audit and program review.
