Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to join our Disaster Recovery Cadre supporting FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs across the United States.

You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects, and help validate scopes and funding eligibility. This on-call, as-needed role may involve remote, field-based, or hybrid assignments depending on client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related field.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates.
• Proficiency with evaluating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices and project scope development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for disaster recovery projects.
• Develop labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and general conditions cost estimates.
• Review plans, specifications, and contractor proposals for cost accuracy.
• Support FEMA PA processes and eligibility determinations with defensible documentation.
