Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to join our Disaster Recovery Cadre and support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs across the United States. You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects following disasters.

This on-call, as-needed position may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional estimating experience.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facility projects.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, facility assessments, project scope development, and construction inspection activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost estimating for disaster recovery projects and support FEMA Public Assistance.
• Review engineering reports, plans, specifications, and contractor proposals.
• Develop and validate project scopes and cost estimates to ensure accuracy and defensibility.
• Support funding eligibility determinations and documentation for public facilities and infrastructure.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant and complete estimates.
