Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking experienced Cost Estimators to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs across the United States. The role involves developing accurate cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects, with on-call, as-needed assignments that may be remote, field-based, or hybrid.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in construction estimating, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with RSMeans, Xactimate, and FEMA CEF formats.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in construction estimating, engineering, architecture, construction management, infrastructure planning, or related field.
• Experience developing cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices and project scope development.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs through scoping, estimating, and documentation.
• Review plans, proposals, and cost documentation for accuracy.
• Provide cost validation and reasonableness determinations to project teams.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop eligible work scopes.
