Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs. You will develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency and permanent work, and assist with eligibility determinations.

This on-call, as-needed role may be remote, field-based, or hybrid. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and program staff, maintain documentation, and support project management across nationwide

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related discipline.
• Experience developing cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities projects.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, project scope development, and inspections.
• Proven ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Willingness to travel for field assignments.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for disaster recovery projects.
• Estimate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and general conditions.
• Prepare documentation clear for audit and program review.
• Review plans, proposals, and cost data for accuracy and compliance.
• Support project teams with cost validation and reasonableness determinations.
