Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an on-call Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs. You will develop accurate cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of estimating experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic, field-to-office environment. Remote, hybrid, and field assignments may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related field.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, project scope development, and construction inspection activities.
• Ability to travel and work with multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs through project scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating activities.
• Develop cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work projects.
• Review engineering reports, plans, specifications, and construction cost documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and program staff to define eligible work and project requirements.
• Maintain project records and supporting documentation in accordance with client and program requirements.
