American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking an entry-level Disaster Recovery Analyst Associate to support the enterprise DR program. You will help maintain recovery documentation, inventories, and RTO/RPO records under supervision, and assist with testing materials and exercise preparation.

You will collect recovery data from technology teams, update records, and assist with post-test documentation, lessons learned, and remediation tracking as part of a growing resilience program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT-related field required.
  • 0-1 year of IT operations, disaster recovery, business continuity or related experience.
  • Associate degree with 3+ years of related experience; or high school diploma with 5+ years.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain DR inventories, recovery documentation, RTO/RPO records.
  • Support collection of recovery information from technology teams.
  • Assist with tabletop, functional, and scenario-based recovery tests.
  • Track corrective actions, lessons learned, gaps, and follow-up items.
  • Support metrics and dashboard updates for documentation and remediation progress.

This entry-level role helps collect recovery information from technology teams, update assigned records, prepare exercise materials, and maintain accurate program documentation under direct supervision. The Associate builds foundational knowledge of disaster recovery, technology resilience, business continuity, and enterprise resilience processes.Job DescriptionWhat You'll Do:Essential Job Functions & Tasks:Assist with maintaining DR inventories, recovery documentation, RTO/RPO records, dependency data, contact information, and evidence repositories in approved enterprise systems.Support collection of recovery information from technology teams, including applications, infrastructure, cloud/SaaS services, vendors, and managed-service providers.Assist with preparation for tabletop, functional, and scenario-based recovery tests, including materials, scheduling support, evidence organization, and post-test documentation.Help track corrective actions, lessons learned, documentation gaps, and assigned follow-up items from exercises, tests, audits, and real-world events.Support metrics and dashboard updates by gathering data on documentation completion, test participation, evidence status, and remediation progress.Assist with gathering DR input for training curriculum and readiness materials aligned to enterprise standards.Preferred Requirements:Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, disaster recovery, business continuity, documentation management, and IT service management concepts.
