Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Public Health seeks a Social Work Manager to lead social work activities within their area, and to serve as the Disaster Behavioral Health Team Lead during emergencies. The role supervises social workers, ensures program effectiveness, and maintains licensure compliance across the team.

Responsibilities include supervision, practice consultation, and timely documentation, with leadership duties in audits, programmatic reviews, and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited program; licensure as LBSW or LMSW by SC Board of Social Work Examiners.
• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program; licensed LMSW or LISW-CP in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for area/program social work issues and concerns.
• Act as Disaster Behavioral Health Team Lead (DBHTL) in emergencies or public health responses.
• Provide supervision, consultation, and evaluation of social work program effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies and licensure laws; participate in hiring and orientation.
