Munich Re Life US is seeking an experienced disability underwriting leader to drive IDI growth, living benefits, and market development. You will combine deep underwriting expertise with strategic partner collaboration across underwriting, business development, product, technology, and client teams to seize opportunities and innovate.

The role supports remote work within the United States, offers a base salary between $160,000 and $185,000 plus annual bonus, and a broad benefits package

Qualifications

• 8+ years of disability underwriting experience within a carrier, reinsurer, brokerage, consulting organization, or related insurance environment.
• Deep knowledge of Individual Disability Income (IDI) underwriting and disability insurance products.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and lead initiatives without direct managerial authority.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and strategic initiatives.
• Experience with underwriting automation, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, or digital transformation initiatives.

Responsabilités

• Support profitable growth initiatives across IDI, GSI, High Limit IDI, GLTD, and related living benefits markets.
• Monitor market trends, competitive developments, emerging products, and distribution strategies impacting the disability marketplace.
• Partner with underwriting and business development teams to identify and evaluate new growth opportunities.
• Represent Munich Re as a thought leader within the disability underwriting community.
