Job summary

Liberty University is seeking an Advisor of Disability Services to assess eligibility for accommodations, maintain a caseload of students, and coordinate with faculty to ensure accessible learning environments. The Lead Advisor functions include handling complex cases, mentoring staff, and developing ODAS initiatives in a faith-based university setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, social work, counseling, rehabilitation studies, education or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for Lead Advisor role in relevant fields such as Higher Education, Counseling, Disability Services Administration, Social Work or Rehabilitation Counseling.
• Preferred: coursework in ADA/Section 504 compliance or assistive technology.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate disability documentation and determine eligibility for accommodations.
• Interact with students to determine accommodation needs and maintain case load.
• Coordinate with faculty and staff to implement accommodations and advocate as needed.
• Ensure confidentiality of disability status and accommodation information.
• Lead initiatives and supervise ODAS staff and processes as applicable.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on trends and outcomes.
