Job summary

Niagara University seeks an Accessibility Services Advisor to support registered students with disabilities and provide academic coaching to at-risk students. You will analyze documentation, coordinate accommodations, and act as a liaison between faculty and students.

The position emphasizes confidentiality, policy development, and collaboration with the Academic Coaching Programs, with responsibilities across fall and spring terms.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Education or related field is required.
• Two to three years of experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting or the equivalent is required.
• A valid New York State driver's license with the ability to travel domestically and internationally (Canada) as required by university operations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze documentation to determine reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities.
• Coordinate the provision of accommodations for registered students with disabilities; examples include testing accommodations, notetaking assistance, alternate format of print materials, and housing requests.
• Provide information about disability-related services to prospective and current students, parents, faculty, and others.
• Serve as a liaison between faculty and students with disabilities.
• Assist the Coordinator of Accessibility Services in developing new and/or updating policies and procedures addressing emerging needs of students with disabilities.
• Assist the Coordinator of Accessibility Services in completing outcomes assessment work.
• Provide direct support to students with disabilities and at-risk students, aiding their academic transition and success.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
