Job summary

Alberta Blue Cross® is seeking a Case Manager to oversee Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability claims, delivering expert advice to internal and external customers. You will adjudicate claims, develop treatment and return-to-work plans, and maintain high-quality communications with stakeholders.

The role requires a health-related degree or diploma and experience in disability claims management, with valuable assets including mental health claims and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Disability claims management experience.
• Mental Health claims management experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of the insurance benefit industry is a plus.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• CDMP or related coursework is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability claims.
• Apply rules per policy and CLHIA guidelines.
• Plan, implement and evaluate sound case management principles.
• Issue correct benefit payments.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders.
• Manage assigned portfolio and be SME for groups.
• Collaborate with Medical Underwriting, Group Underwriting, Sales, Group Administration and Accounting.
