Job summary
Brevard County is seeking a skilled supervisor to oversee maintenance and repairs across water, reclaimed water, and wastewater facilities, lift stations, and distribution networks. You will supervise utility maintenance staff and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Experience in water/wastewater systems, strong leadership, and the ability to work flexible hours including standby shifts are essential.
Qualifications
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance/repair of water/wastewater plants or distribution systems, with 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Licensure: valid Florida driver’s license; FW&PCOA/FDOT licenses or higher as specified; ability to obtain MOT/TTC certification within 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Supervise maintenance and repairs to water, reclaimed water, and wastewater plants, lift stations, and distribution/collection systems within an assigned area.
- Provide supervision to utility maintenance staff and coordinate with other departments as needed.
- Be prepared for standby, overtime, and holiday duties; respond to emergencies as required.
