Job summary

WM is seeking a Director, Wastewater Process Engineer to lead enterprise-wide initiatives for landfill liquids management and treatment within the ES&WT program. You will establish policies, oversee design and operations, and drive improvements across facilities.

You will monitor regulatory developments, provide technical leadership on complex projects, collaborate with experts, and support continuous optimization while balancing environmental and business objectives.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an engineering-related field required.
• 10+ years total experience with 7+ years in industrial wastewater treatment design/operations.
• Master's degree preferred; 10+ years experience; management experience preferred.
• PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead policy development for landfill liquids handling, treatment and disposal.
• Provide technical leadership for leachate treatment facilities and due diligence.
• Develop and implement regulatory compliance programs.
• Collaborate with internal and external SMEs on R&D initiatives.
• Balance enterprise financial goals with environmental regulations.
