Job summary

Met Council is seeking a Director of Volunteer Programs and Fulfillment Centers to design and lead volunteer engagement across Manhattan, the Bronx, and beyond. You will supervise three direct reports and oversee daily operations at the Spitzer Fulfillment Center while expanding the Bronx presence and planning a future Bronx Fulfillment Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in development, donor relations, corporate engagement, nonprofit events, community engagement, and/or volunteer management.
• Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and mentoring a team of staff and overseeing multiple programs or workstreams.
• Experience developing engagement opportunities that support donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage both strategic priorities and day‑to‑day operations across multiple locations.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working effectively with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Lead volunteer engagement strategy and develop programs that deepen donor and partner relationships.
• Oversee planning and execution of volunteer and engagement events across the five boroughs and regional expansion.
• Manage operations and expansion at Spitzer Fulfillment Center and lead Bronx expansion initiatives.
• Mentor and manage the Volunteer Programs and Fulfillment Centers team across locations.
• Represent Met Council at community events, donor engagements, and speaking opportunities in the Tri‑State area.
• Collaborate with Development Team to align volunteer opportunities with donor cultivation and fundraising goals.
• Develop strategic partnerships with corporations, synagogues, schools, nonprofits, and Hillels to deepen engagement.
• Design and oversee large‑scale volunteer programs including logistics, staffing, and vendor management.
• Coordinate cross‑departmentally to implement initiatives where volunteerism intersects with development and services.
