Job summary

Serco Inc. in Groton, CT seeks a strategic Director, Business Operations to shape and sustain undersea programs for Navy defense contracts.

You will lead cradle-to-grave acquisition efforts, coordinate with government and industry partners, and influence cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical outcomes. The role requires a DoW Secret clearance, citizen status, 10+ years of leadership in defense programs, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Program Management, Operations Management, Acquisition, or related field.
• 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in defense/government programs.
• Experience managing large-scale government programs, contracts, or initiatives.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders within a matrixed environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Experience engaging with senior government, military, industry, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to senior government and industry stakeholders on program execution and strategic priorities.
• Support senior-level customer engagement across the Undersea Warfare Enterprise.
• Conduct independent assessments of program execution, schedule, and readiness.
• Identify risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Evaluate performance measures and support informed decision-making.
• Develop and evaluate operational processes, governance, metrics, and practices.
• Analyze complex operational and business challenges and recommend solutions.
• Support execution of complex government contracts and strategic initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• Promote collaboration across government, industry, and internal teams.
• Provide expertise on defense industrial base, supply chain, and acquisition strategies.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices relevant to Navy programs.
