KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is recruiting for a Director of Renewable Energy Project Development in Houston, TX. This senior role focuses on building and advancing a U.S. utility-scale renewable energy portfolio, with emphasis on Texas/ERCOT, and leading projects from origination through RTB and NTP.

The candidate will oversee site control, interconnection, permitting, and cross-functional coordination to drive financial close and project milestones.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of U.S. renewable energy development experience.
• Experience with utility-scale Solar, BESS or Solar+BESS.
• Proven ability to advance projects through multiple development stages.

Responsibilities

• Originate and evaluate utility-scale Solar, BESS & hybrid opportunities.
• Build and manage a pipeline of greenfield and acquisition projects.
• Lead site control, land acquisition, leases, easements & options.
• Manage interconnection strategy, applications & studies with utilities and ISOs/RTOs.
• Lead permitting and stakeholder coordination at federal, state and local levels.
• Evaluate project economics, development budgets and investment returns.
• Support PPA, tolling, hedging & offtake strategies.
• Lead development due diligence for acquisitions and JVs.
• Coordinate Engineering, EPC, Finance, Legal and external consultants.
• Advance projects toward Ready-to-Build, Financial Close, and NTP.

We Are Recruiting: Director - Renewable Energy Project Development | Houston, TX

We are seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Project Development Director to help build and advance a U.S. utility-scale renewable energy portfolio, with an initial focus on Texas/ERCOT. This is a senior-level opportunity for a hands‑on development professional with experience taking Solar, BESS, and/or hybrid projects from origination through key development milestones toward Ready-to-Build, Financial Close, and NTP.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate and evaluate utility-scale Solar, BESS & hybrid opportunities

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of U.S. renewable energy development experience


• Utility‑scale Solar, BESS or Solar + BESS experience


• Demonstrated experience advancing projects through multiple development stages


• Experience with ERCOT, MISO, SPP, PJM and/or CAISO


• Texas/ERCOT development experience strongly preferred


• Experience with acquisitions, JVs and/or development partnerships is a plus
