Job summary

Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, Montana invites applications for Director of the TREES Center to lead national efforts creating pathways for Indigenous and underserved students into forestry and natural resources careers. The role requires designing and evaluating internship programs, building partnerships with tribal organizations, agencies, and industry, and securing funding.

You will supervise staff, represent the College in national discussions, and may teach occasionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Wildland Fire, or related Natural Resources field is required.
• Strong interpersonal, cross-cultural, and written communication skills are essential.
• Experience building coalitions, MOUs, and partnerships with national tribal bodies and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Design, administer, and evaluate national student internship programs and cohorts.
• Cultivate and maintain national partnerships with tribal organizations, Intertribal Timber Council, and other agencies.
• Develop national recruitment/outreach for TREES and secure funding from federal, foundation, and philanthropic sources.
• Supervise center staff and represent the College in national discussions to expand pathways and capacity.
• Oversee strategic workforce development activities, analyze obstacles, and create leadership growth opportunities.
• Teach on an as-needed basis.
