Job summary

The Iowa Department of Transportation, Transportation Development Division, is seeking a Director of the Systems Planning Bureau in Ames, Iowa. This at-will role leads four teams and about 36 employees, guiding long-range transportation planning and modal plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Systems Planning Bureau and oversee four teams (Traffic Collection & Analysis; Modeling, Forecasting & Telemetrics; Planning; Mapping & GIS).
• Develop modal transportation plans and the state long-range transportation plan.
• Coordinate with internal divisions, the department director, the Transportation Commission, other agencies, regional MPOs and the federal government.
