Job summary

GPI seeks a full-time Director of Construction Inspection to lead and oversee major infrastructure projects in Northern Indiana. The role focuses on client liaison, staff leadership, and ensuring project quality from pre-bid through close-out.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, review contracts, schedules, and budgets, and drive safety and compliance on site. A PE license in Indiana is preferred, with 10+ years of INDOT or heavy highway experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management.
• PE License in Indiana preferred.
• 10+ years INDOT or heavy highway/bridge construction experience.
• Experience from design to final construction and project management.
• Strong conflict resolution, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with INDOT or municipal projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify prospective clients and opportunities within INDOT and LPA in Indiana.
• Develop responses for Requests for Proposals across clients.
• Lead teams of engineers and inspectors from pre-bid through close-out.
• Coordinate cross-firm relationships to pursue projects.
• Oversee contract budgets and ensure compliance with documents.
• Schedule and lead project meetings; distribute minutes.
• Provide technical leadership and staff training.
• Interpret contract documents to address issues effectively.
• Monitor staff activities for contractual alignment.
• Communicate with staff, agencies, and the public.
