Job summary

Avangrid Power, LLC seeks a Director of Transmission/Interconnection to lead national interconnection and transmission strategies across ISOs/RTOs, guiding negotiations, contract administration, and policy alignment for renewable projects. You will manage a team of Interconnection Analysts and partner with Origination, Development, and Project Delivery to advance Avangrid’s growth agenda.

Qualifications

• Negotiation of interconnection agreements considering project schedules and risk.
• Thorough knowledge of ISO tariff procedures and interconnection processes.
• Knowledge of Federal, ISO, FERC and state interconnection and planning procedures.
• Ability to explain complex issues clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate with ISO staff, transmission owners, and developers.
• Demonstrated relationship-building and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to influence and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal groups to align interconnection and transmission strategies with project schedules.
• Develop and execute interconnection strategies across U.S. ISOs/RTOs in support of national plans.
• Represent transmission strategy before owners, ISOs/RTOs, and regulators nationwide.
• Manage internal procedures for interconnecting generators per policy and goals.
• Originating, negotiating, and coordinating interconnection agreements and studies.
• Oversee existing interconnection contracts for compliance and performance.
• Provide executive-level support including financing readiness and FERC filings.
• Manage relationships with transmission owners and ISO/RTOS in conferences and task forces.
• Lead meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely information exchange.
• Lead a team of interconnection analysts with coaching and development.
• Set priorities and direct day-to-day workload across regions.
