Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority seeks a Director Electronic Support to lead maintenance of electronic revenue and bus technology equipment across MTA Bus and NYCT depots. You will supervise staff, manage preventative maintenance, and coordinate vendor contracts to ensure a State of Good Repair.

Responsibilities include forecasting inventory, controlling overtime, and maintaining performance indicators to meet agency goals.

Qualifications

• > Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; combination of education and experience may be considered.
• > Minimum 8 years in electronic maintenance or related field.
• > Minimum 4 years in supervisory or managerial capacity.

Responsibilities

• Directs and instructs revenue staff on preventative maintenance within MTA Bus depots.
• Oversees maintenance of bus revenue equipment including modems, APC, cameras, USB and ethernet cables.
• Enforces tracking policies for revenue equipment movement and functionality.
• Trains hourly and supervisory staff on testing and implementation to keep equipment in SOGR.
• Coordinates outside vendor contracts for OMNY validators and new bus technology.
• Conducts depot visits and aligns needs with management.
• Assesses staffing needs to ensure proper depot coverage.
• Mentors new supervisors to meet operational needs.
• Conducts interviews and negotiates assignments with unions as needed.
• Manages overtime, payroll accuracy, and availability to support operations.
• Reviews payroll discrepancies and ensures timely compensation.
• Closes out CMF sheets and justifies overtime scheduling forms.
• Functions as revenue equipment parts planner and budget monitor.
